What ChatGPT Gets Wrong About Finding a Plumber in Plant City

People type “best plumber in Plant City” into ChatGPT, Gemini, or a Google AI box and call the first name the model prints. That name usually comes from one directory or review page the bot retrieved that day. It is not a ride-along on the truck.

True Plumbers & AC is headquartered at 4000 N Frontage Rd, Plant City, FL 33565. Issac Turpin started the company in 2009. In July 2026 we asked ChatGPT, with web search on, for a plumber in Lakeland and in Plant City. It named us in Lakeland. It skipped Plant City. The Lakeland mention sat on a directory. The Plant City miss sat on a different directory. The website was not the source.

A directory blurb is not a dispatcher

AI answers for “best plumber in [city]” read chamber pages, Best of lists, and review widgets. They do not open emergency plumbing and see that a person picks up at 2 a.m. They do not know if the phone on that list is a live dispatcher or a call center that books whoever bought the lead.

Call (863) 667-6364 and ask who answers after dark. If you get a recording that takes a message, that is the test.

A live dispatcher will ask what you see, whether water is still moving, and whether you can find the shutoff. They will not give you an arrival window they cannot keep. From Plant City HQ the same board also runs Lakeland and Winter Haven after hours.
