Water Softener Installation & Repair in Lakeland, FL & Surrounding Areas

Our plumbing company installs water softener systems such as ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and more in Lakeland, FL.

When your water ends up staining your appliances and showers, it's a sign that you have a problem with hard water or mineral buildup. Counteract the effects of hard water by having a plumbing company like True Plumbers & AC install a water softener system. We install and repair ion exchange systems, reverse osmosis systems, and more throughout the Lakeland, FL area.

Why Your Property Needs a Water Softening System

Throughout the Lakeland area, plumbing systems often experience side effects of having hard water run through the pipes. Hard water contains minerals such as calcium and magnesium that can create a buildup inside your pipes, leave white stains on clothing and appliances, and leave a residue behind which makes it much harder to clean with detergent and soap.

Over time, that residue continues to build on your pipes and can cause them to become corroded. A corroded pipe can easily break and begin leaking, which leads to water damage inside your residential or commercial property. The mineral scaling can also damage water heaters and lessen their lifespan.

By installing a water softening system, you can solve the problems caused by hard water.

Types of Water Softener Systems for Central Florida Properties

Removing the top of a water softener at a residential property in Lakeland, FL.

When you decide to install a water softener system, there are a couple of types available that are the best choices for central Florida properties.

  • Ion Exchange: Water is filtered through a resin that has positively charged sodium ions on it. These positive ions react with the calcium and magnesium in the water, causing them to be positive and cling to the resin while the sodium ions then pass through instead, creating soft water. Periodically, this system will require a regeneration process, which involves washing the resin with a salt solution to replenish the sodium ions and clean off any calcium or magnesium buildup.
  • Reverse Osmosis: Reverse osmosis is a process where water is filtered through a semi-permeable membrane to remove 98% of the total dissolved solids in the water. Depending on the type of system you choose, there could be 1-3 different types of filters within the system.

We also install iron filters, water filters, and chlorinators, along with whole-house water conditioning systems. On all new installations, we offer a one-year workmanship warranty and the manufacturer provides a five-year warranty on the head, excluding seals, and a 10-year warranty on the fiberglass tank.

We Repair Broken Seals, Water Lines, & Adjust System Settings

If your water softener needs repairing, our 5-star rated plumbers can assist. We repair minor water softener issues such as broken seals and broken water lines going to and from the system. If your softener system needs adjustment, we can help fix that as well.

It's also recommended to routinely test your water to ensure the system is still producing soft water. We can come out with a water testing kit to assess the mineral content within your water. If it's too high, that's an indicator that your system may need a replacement. We offer water softener replacements too.
